cedarville the beautiful

013copy
i was looking through some old instax photos and i found these pictures i took on my last week at my college. looking at them made me miss college life: waking up every morning to edward sharpe with my roommate, walking to get coffee at the most random times, morning chapels, reading my bible by the lake, late nights in the art lab with amazingly talented people, the mile long walk into town to get decent food, having to schedule my every minute in order to be productive, being creative in cafeteria, baking to de-stress with the unit mates, way too much time wasted spent on pinterest, rain, rain and more rain, making playlists for normal tasks like walking to class and studying, dressing up for no reason, sunday church rides, exploring the ohio area when i had a chance (and a car), attending tennis matches to cheer on my roomie, learning new things everyday and everything else in-between. i was so blessed to spend a year at such a fantastic place with such fantastic people. the times i spent there were some of the best of my life, especially the last few weeks of school. though i know God has other things for me, i will always feel extremely blessed and thankful when i think of the friends and memories i made my freshman year of college.

{our dining room at twilight}

for the past few weeks, i have been on an instagram hiatus (besides keeping up with my photo a day pictures on my personal account). i just love the freedom of not constantly having my iphone out to capture every moment and not feeling obligated to constantly check my instagram feed. i've also limited my time and posts on twitter and facebook. this summer, my goal is to live more organically with less technology and less distractions. that is probably why i find film photography so refreshing. i love the manual process, getting the settings just right and not being able to check and analyze the pictures afterwards. i've even learned to appreciate the days of waiting for my rolls to finally be developed. this summer my goal is to capture more moments and memories on film than with my iPhone.

ben howard

7cecec85, Uploaded from the Photobucket iPhone App
last night, i went to one of the best live performances i have ever seen (sorry railroad revival tour). i saw ben howard at the troubadour in los angeles with a few friends not expecting much but boy, was i blown away. seriously the only way i can describe it is magical. he has the most amazing sweet and simple style of singing. its so raw and real. and he just seems like a beautiful person. he's too ridiculously talented and adorable for his own good! here are a few of my favorite songs of his plus a genius cover of Call Me Maybe:
