FAQ

here are some questions i've been asked lately. if you have a question, ask here or email me at hayley@junesandmoons.com

{personal}
what are you studying in school?
i'm an industrial design major. i'm planning on an emphasis in transportation and cars but i don't choose that for a few years. i've loved designing and drawing things all my life so i'm so excited to finally be pursuing this

why do you travel so much?
because i like to! well that is only half the reason. i studied in new zealand for a year which allowed me to see the pacific rim. after, i studied in france and england which allowed me to see more of europe. since i was growing up, my parents have always made traveling abroad a priority so i have been blessed to travel regularly and see some very beautiful places.

what are your favorite places you've traveled?
that's a hard one! big sur in california is probably my favorite place i have ever been followed by the ring of kerry in ireland, paris, new york city, amsterdam and wellington in new zealand.

you talk a lot about health. are you gluten-free? what's your diet and exercise plan?
i have celiacs (an immune reaction to eating gluten) so i don't eat gluten. i also have an allergy to dairy so i try to avoid that as well. for the most part, i eat plant based foods but i also occasionally enjoy reasonably sourced eggs and fish. i was vegan and raw vegan for a while but now i just try to eat as healthy and sustainable as possible. for exercise, i love to be active! i do lots of yoga and stretching and try to walk or run everyday. i also love hiking and cycling and hiit training.

where did you get your iphone case?
depends on which one. my most recent is from rifle paper co, which i adore. before this one, i bought my iPhone cases exclusively thru society6, which has some beautiful and very unique cases.

what camera do you use?
i now use a nikon d7000 for my digital photography but most of my early digital pictures were taken with a nikon d5000 with a kit lens. i primarily a canon ae-1 for my film photos but also play around with my blackbird fly toy camera and holga 120. my polaroids are from my instax mini and wide cameras.

what film do you use for your analog cameras?
my go-to film is fujifilm 400h. i recently tried portra 160 and i fell in love with it. i will definitely be using it much more in the future. i also really like portra 400. i think i've probably tried almost every sort of film out there and i have really enjoyed most kinds i've tried but these are my favorites.

how do you edit your photos?
when i do edit my digital photos, i use lightroom with vsco film or beautiful mess presets.

who designed your website?
i did! i found a basic template online and modified it from there. i change my blog around quite a bit.

what font is your header?
it's morado sharp

what fonts do you use on your pictures?
i usually use kg hard candy or quicksand

why don't you use capital letters?
honestly, grammar stresses me out. i don't even use proper caps when i hand write (oops!)

do you accept sponsorships?
i do sponsorships with companies or bloggers that i really believe in and that fit my blog's aesthetic. for the time being, i usually only do sidebar advertisements but email me at thestardustsunrise@gmail.com with questions or inquiries.
